Senior Software Quality Analyst

Responsibilities:

* The Software Quality Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources to determine quality and reliability trends for control systems software and hardware for two divisions of Emerson Process Management - Process Systems and Solutions (PSS) and Power and Water Solutions (PWS). The Analyst will also interpret these trends and other data to develop and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions. The Analyst will be responsible for providing standard monthly and demand reports on field reliability of PSS and PWS products, and will be expected to develop and implement new analytical metrics and techniques that will advance the state of the business, including tools, techniques and procedures that will improve the efficiency of the reporting process. Assignments may also include design and improvement of databases and data collection techniques for more accurate analysis, as well as leadership for related process improvement activity. In all of these activities, the Analyst will be expected to work closely with quality engineers in the US, technical support engineers, test engineers and software development engineers in Manila, the US and other locations around the world.

Requirements:

* Proficient in MS Office applications with particular focus on Excel and PowerPoint; Experience in Excel VBA Programming is a plus.
* Practical experience in data mining, both textual and field. Background in working with, manipulating, organizing and retrieving data from various databases.
* Transactional SQL experience and basic understanding of database design
* Experience in analytical and problem solving disciplines typically associated with quality engineering and process improvement.
* Background with process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) as applied in process industries (hydrocarbons, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemicals, food and beverage, etc.) is preferred.
* 6-8 years professional experience in related analytical fields
* BS or MS in Engineering , Computer Science or Mathematics
* Excellent written and oral English communication skills; fast comprehension is a must
* Working knowledge in applied mathematics and statistics.
* Can work with minimum supervision; demonstrated ability to work with remote management
* Leadership skills sufficient to allow the engineer to drive improvements across various Emerson organizations.
* Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple activities while meeting deadlines
